Twin Rivers is committed to  preventing summer learning loss by providing our students  ample access to summer academic and enrichment opportunities. Our various summer programs are specifically designed to help students improve their academic foundations and help them develop new skills sets for the future.  A robust catalog of summer programs and activities has been crafted to ensure there is something for everyone to look forward to this summer! 

          
Early Learning Programs Title Logo
Kinder Kamp is a summer readiness program for students entering TK or Kindergarten that builds social-emotional skills, introduces classroom routines and expectations, and provides early exposure to letters, numbers, and shapes to help children start school with confidence. SLAM is a TK–7th grade summer enrichment program that prevents learning loss through engaging, hands-on experiences. It blends academics with sports, arts, and STEM to support creativity and growth.

Freedom School Summer Program Title Logo
The Freedom Schools® Summer Program, operated by the Roberts Family Development Center in partnership with the Twin Rivers Unified School District and the Children’s Defense Fund, is a six-week, literacy-focused summer experience designed to prevent learning loss and inspire a love of reading. Through engaging books, small-group instruction, leadership development, social-emotional learning, and family involvement, students build academic skills, confidence, and a strong sense of identity while preparing for success in the school year ahead.

Dates: 6/15 to 7/24 Monday through Thursday (Fieldtrips on Fridays)
Times: 7:30 AM- 4:00 pm 
Tentative Location: Rio Tierra JHS
Registration window:  3/2- 3/31,2026
Grades: TK-12

Hypu Summer Program
The Hmong Enrichment Summer Camp (HESC), operated by Hmong Youth & Parents United in partnership with Twin Rivers Unified School District, is a six-week summer program serving TK–12 students. The program strengthens literacy, language development, and cultural identity through engaging academics, enrichment, and social-emotional learning in a safe, affirming environment.
