District Community Liaisons

The English Learner Services and Special Projects and Equity departments have District Community Liaisons (DCLs) who support families and schools throughout Twin Rivers Unified School District. DCLs strengthen family-school partnerships and connect families with information, programs, and resources that support student success.
 
DCL FOCUS AREAS
  • Promote family engagement in support of student learning and academic success.
  • Connect families with district and community resources that support student and family well-being.
  • Strengthen communication between families, schools, and the district to build trust and collaboration.
  • Support schools in developing and maintaining effective School Site Councils (SSCs) and English Learner Advisory Committees (ELACs).

District Community Liaisons (DCLs) are assigned across the Foothill, Grant, Highlands, and Rio Linda networks and can assist with school events, School Site Councils, ELACs, and family engagement activities. Please reach out to our team for assistance!

No Student Left Hungry Program

The No Student Left Hungry Program supports food security for Twin Rivers students and families in working-class communities. Through a partnership with the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS), the program provides shelf-stable, grab-and-go food boxes to help families when school meals are unavailable—such as on weekends, holidays, and school breaks. Learn more or request support through your District Community Liaison (DCL).
 
The program is free and equitably available to all families in need.

CalKIDS

CalKIDS is a State of California program that provides free education funds to eligible students for college or career training after high school. Many students already have an account with money available, and families may not realize it.
 
Funds can be used for college, trade school, career certificates, and other approved education expenses, helping families plan early and lower future costs. To check eligibility, families need the student’s Statewide Student Identifier (SSID), which can be found on student transcripts, or on state testing reports.
