How Mentoring Supports Students

Academic Success
Mentors help students set goals, develop strong academic habits, stay on track, and connect with resources for success.

Social-Emotional & Wellness
Students can build confidence, strengthen relationships, develop coping skills, and connect with supportive adults, including CYBHI Wellness Coaches.

College & Career
Programs help students explore careers, learn about college and career pathways, develop workplace skills, and plan for life after high school.

Athletics & Leadership
Student-athletes and emerging leaders can build teamwork, communication, accountability, leadership, and decision-making skills.

4 Your Epiphany Foundation, Inc

Mentoring Program: Mentor Academy
 
4 Your Epiphany’s Mentor Academy provides peer-to-peer mentorship and leadership development opportunities that help students build confidence, communication skills, and positive relationships. Students develop personal and professional skills through mentorship, leadership development, workforce readiness, social-emotional learning, and career exploration.

Academics for Athletes (A4A)

Mentoring Program: Student Success & Leadership Pipeline
 
A4A connects students with mentors and supportive adults who help them set goals, stay on track academically, and build confidence. Mentoring also supports leadership development, college and career exploration, workforce readiness, and positive youth development.

Animation Intern Education

Mentoring Program: Creator X
 
Animation Intern Education connects students with working professionals in Arts, Media & Entertainment through hands-on learning, career exploration, and mentorship. Students can explore careers in animation, film, digital media, game design, and other creative fields while building professional skills.
 

Center for Fathers and Families (CFF)

Mentoring Program: CFF Hands On Mentoring Program
 
CFF provides relationship-centered mentoring that helps students build confidence, strengthen academic habits, and develop leadership, communication, and life skills. Through one-on-one and small-group mentoring, students receive support with goal-setting, social-emotional development, conflict resolution, career awareness, and positive decision-making.

Creative Engagement Services / Brother 2 Brother

Mentoring Program: U-Turn Expanded Learning Enrichment Program
 
Brother 2 Brother provides credible-messenger mentors who build positive relationships, support goal-setting, and help students develop conflict-resolution, emotional regulation, and leadership skills. The program also includes career and workforce readiness, public speaking, and opportunities for students to strengthen their voice, confidence, and connection to school and community.

Dillard Consulting Group

Mentoring Program: Student Leadership & Cultural Proficiency Academy
 
Dillard Consulting Group provides relationship-centered mentoring that helps students build leadership, confidence, accountability, and a stronger connection to their school community. Through student leadership, cultural proficiency, public speaking, conflict resolution, service learning, and student-athlete leadership opportunities, students are supported in developing skills for success in school and beyond.

Hmong Youth and Parents United (HYPU)

Mentoring Program: Youth Mentorship Circle
 
HYPU provides culturally responsive mentoring that helps students build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop leadership and communication skills. Mentorship connects students with supportive adults and peers while helping them build a stronger sense of belonging, cultural identity, and connection to their school and community.
 

Improve Your Tomorrow (IYT)

Mentoring Program: College Academy
 
IYT’s College Academy provides consistent near-peer mentorship from college students, young professionals, and program alumni who offer relatable guidance, accountability, and encouragement. Mentors support students with academic goals, social-emotional development, leadership, college and career exploration, and planning for life after high school.

Roberts Family Development Center (RFDC)

Mentoring Program:  Student Athletes
 
RFDC provides mentoring and academic support designed to help students build confidence, strengthen relationships, and stay engaged in school. Students receive guidance while developing academic, social-emotional, leadership, and life skills through supportive relationships and enrichment opportunities.

Sacramento Chinese Community Service Center (The Center)

Youth Workforce Initiative
 
The Center’s Youth Workforce Initiative connects high school students with Youth Workforce Mentors who provide coaching, goal-setting, and ongoing support as students build leadership, communication, and workplace skills. Through paid internships and volunteer opportunities, students gain hands-on experience, career exploration, civic engagement, and mentoring while supporting younger students in expanded learning programs.

United College Action Network, Inc. (U-CAN)

Mentorship Programs:
 
Scholar Athlete Support and Advisement (SASA)
Supports student-athletes with academic guidance, advisement, goal-setting, and preparation for college and future career opportunities.
 
Helping Young Males Succeed (HYMS)
Provides culturally responsive mentoring and support designed to strengthen student confidence, relationships, leadership, and connection to school and community.
 
Girls Empowerment and Mentoring Support (GEMS)

Provides mentoring and leadership development that helps girls build confidence, recognize their strengths, develop positive relationships, and prepare for future success.
 
College Access & Preparation Services (CAPS)
Helps students navigate college preparation, postsecondary planning, and the steps needed to pursue college and other opportunities after high school.
U-CAN provides students with mentoring and support tailored to their individual needs, interests, and goals, with opportunities focused on academics, leadership, college and career readiness, and personal development.
