Food Distribution
Twin Rivers Unified School District, in partnership with Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services, offers a free, walk-up, choice-model food distribution with fresh produce, frozen protein, and pantry items for eligible families and individuals. Registrations are held in Room S105 in the S-Building at Highlands High School, 6601 Guthrie St., North Highlands, with access from Don Julio Blvd. near the Sports Complex. The food distribution takes place on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 3:45–5:15 PM (unless otherwise noted).
Reminders:
- This is a choice-model food distribution where families select the foods they need, including produce, meat, and pantry items.
- Please bring reusable bags or a cart to carry your items.
- Bring a form of identification for registration. First-time participants will complete an intake form, and household information will be entered into our online system (Oasis Insight Platform).
- All information in this system is secure and will not be shared outside our network. Providing this information will not affect your access to other resources

Distribution Location
Twin Rivers Food Distribution takes place in the S-Building at Highlands High School, 6601 Guthrie St., North Highlands, CA 95660, with access from Don Julio Blvd. near the Sports Complex. Intake and registration are conducted in Room S105.

Student Food Boxes (No Student Left Hungry)
The No Student Left Hungry Program provides free, shelf-stable food boxes to students and families who may need additional food support, especially during weekends, holidays, and school breaks.
Each food box includes nonperishable food items to help families prepare meals at home.

This program is free and available to families in need throughout Twin Rivers.
Student food boxes are intended as a one-time, short-term support to help families meet immediate food needs while they connect with ongoing food assistance programs and nearby community food distribution locations.
How to request a student food box:
- Families: Contact your school's District Community Liaison (DCL) or school staff to request assistance.
- School Staff: If you know a student or family who could benefit, connect with your District Community Liaison to coordinate a referral. Please discuss the request with the family before submitting it.
- Distribution: Our liaison team will coordinate requests and arrange for food boxes to be delivered to the school or a designated pickup location.
This program is free and available to families in need throughout Twin Rivers.
Food Distribution Volunteers
Make a Difference—Volunteer at Our Food Distribution!
Twin Rivers families, students, staff, and community members are invited to volunteer at our Food Distribution events. Volunteers help welcome families, organize and distribute food, and clean up.
- Students can earn community service hours and must submit a parent/guardian consent and waiver form.
- Adult volunteers must complete the district’s volunteer clearance process before participating. The application requires a current photo ID and proof of a negative TB test. Adults who are already cleared should contact Sarah Velosa at (916) 566-1600, ext. 32111 or sarah.velosa@trusd.net to verify their status.
