School Fact Sheet

To inspire each student to extraordinary achievement every day.

School Highlights

Our vision parallels the district’s vision, which is to maintain an unwavering focus on powerful and engaging learning experiences that prepare students for college, career, and life success.

To achieve this vision, the community of Foothill Oaks Elementary School will commit to:
  • Nurturing responsible citizens
  • Fostering a passion for higher learning
  • Creating an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated
  • Ensuring a positive and safe learning environment for all students

Our students and staff at Foothill Oaks Elementary share a strong desire to be the best we can be. Our student population is diverse and ranges from transitional kindergarten to sixth grade. We also host one of two district comprehensive (K-6) BRIDGE programs, with four moderate-severe Special Day Classes.

Foothill Oaks is especially proud that our students have access to multiple technology programs to enhance their learning experience at home and at school. We take advantage of Wednesday early release days, ensuring our staff have time to collaborate at least twice a month in their Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). Additionally, at least once a month on Wednesdays, teachers receive professional development on a variety of topics such as English Language Development and Social and Emotional Learning.

Excellence in Education

Every instructional minute counts as we strive for unparalleled student achievement. Our 2024-2025 Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) scores were above the district average at 49.67% proficiency for math and 61.03% for English Language Arts (ELA). Our goal continues to be to increase student proficiency in both math and Language Arts. We will continue to use district benchmark data for comparison and measurement of growth and to plan for instruction.

Strategies and supports we have to promote excellence in education are:
  • Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) for staff with the focus on increasing academic achievement
  • Instructional Leadership team with the focus on Unparalleled Academic Achievement
  • RULER implementation and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS): Tier 1 team focuses on positive schoolwide behavioral systems such as Caught Ya’s, positive office referrals, and life skills award assemblies; PBIS Tier II and III teams provide additional supports
  • Schoolwide Response to Intervention Time (RTI) for both math and ELA
  • Trimester family engagement activities, at least three times a year
  • Chromebooks for all students
