Foothill provides opportunities for all students to take academically rigorous classes, pursue career and technical pathways, and explore options within our Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) program. There is something for everyone at Foothill High.

Academics and Enrichment Programs
Foothill High offers Advanced and Honors classes in all subject areas for grades 9-12 including:
- Honors English Language Arts (ELA), math, science and social science
- AP classes in ELA (language/composition & literature), mathematics (statistics), science (living earth, chemistry of earth, physics, computer science), social science (AP world history, US history, government, and economics), and AP Spanish Language
- Dual Enrollment with American River College where students can earn a high school diploma and an AA degree
- Dual Enrollment with Sacramento State in Digital Media
Excellence in Education
- 40% of graduating seniors accepted to CSU/UC or other four-year college institutions
- Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program with 100% college acceptance rate
- Graduation rate of 93%, with 56% of graduates meeting A-G requirements
- Expansion of Advanced Placement (AP) program, including new courses in core subject areas
- Schoolwide implementation of 12th grade Expository Reading and Writing Course (ERWC) developed by the CSU college system
