School Fact Sheet

To inspire each student to extraordinary achievement every day.

School Highlights

At Hillsdale Elementary, we are committed to helping every student reach their full potential in a nurturing, safe, and respectful learning environment. Our dedicated team of educators empowers students to develop essential 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. We deeply value your children’s academic, personal, and social growth. Our goal is to foster a community of lifelong learners where students thrive, take healthy risks, and grow with confidence, respect, and a love for learning. We believe strong partnerships with families, staff, peers, and the broader community are key to our students’ success. Parents play a vital role at Hillsdale, and we welcome your involvement—whether through volunteering in classrooms, participating in leadership groups like the School Site Council (SSC), or the English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC). These partnerships help shape the direction of our school and ensure every student receives the support they need to succeed.

Excellence in Education

Hillsdale Elementary takes pride in being a community of lifelong, curious learners. Our dedicated staff works closely with one another and fellow educators to support and enhance student achievement. All students develop essential computer skills to help prepare them for the future. For those needing additional support, we offer targeted interventions through both staff assistance and innovative, research-based technology. Every day, students receive personalized instruction during What I Need (WIN) time. Our teachers and support staff use a variety of assessments along with their professional insight to ensure students get the support they need. Ongoing collaboration among staff ensures that each student benefits from a well-planned academic schedule tailored to their needs.

Awards and Notable Accomplishments

Hillsdale has received the Title 1 Distinguished School Award in recognition of our strong academic achievement. Additionally, we have earned the California PBIS Platinum Implementation Award for our faithful and effective implementation of the PBIS national framework. At Hillsdale, students enjoy a vibrant visual and performing arts program. We are proud to have dedicated music and art teachers, and classroom teachers also integrate the arts into their instruction. Our schoolwide 'Sing' events further enrich the experience, bringing joy and a sense of community to our students.

Academics and Enrichments Programs

Hillsdale is home to the RISE (Reaching Independence through Structured Education) and TAP (Transitional Academic Program) programs to support students with disabilities. In addition, the Greater Sacramento Boys and Girls Club provides free before and after school programs for Hillsdale students, including recreation, homework support, and enrichment activities focused on literacy, technology, sports, and tutoring. Our staff also offers after-school tutoring when needed. Field trips and assemblies expand students’ horizons with new learning experiences, while family events promote learning together at home and at school. We warmly welcome and strongly encourage parent involvement. Building a strong, collaborative relationship between school and families helps ensure every student can thrive both in and out of the classroom. Our school also benefits from the generous support of community partners, who contribute through classroom presentations, family science nights, backpack donations, and more. We deeply appreciate this involvement and encourage everyone to take part!
