Westside Preparatory Charter
2026-2027
School Fact Sheet
To inspire each student to extraordinary achievement every daySchool Highlights
The guiding philosophy of the Westside Preparatory Charter is that all students have the right to feel safe, secure, valued, wanted, and successful. Academic excellence is achieved through a challenging curriculum, supporting each student to reach their intellectual potential. Our students will be responsible, productive citizens of society with self-directed expectations and a sense of community, willing to give and share their talents and resources. They are all accountable for their actions. All adults believe that students can develop morally, intellectually, and socially to their fullest potential.
Our charter school provides an alternative to the traditional junior high school experience. A school for students and parents who want higher academic standards, a smaller school environment, accountability, and consistent communication with parents.
Our curriculum is teacher-driven and student-centered, and our teachers provide individualized attention to students. We have a block schedule that includes a variety of rigorous programs such as AH-HA Vocabulary, TCI History, AVID and Project Lead the Way (PLTW). We follow the California State Content Standards and focus on helping students think critically, collaborate with others, and cultivate communication skills.
